Description and Application

TEADIT® packing Style 2022 is an extruded packing made from pure PTFE- fine-powder, sulphurless graphite (99% pure) and a food-approved lubricant. This soft, solid packing has excellent thermal and chemical resistance. It is self-lubricating, which reduces friction on shafts and spindles, and resists gas permeation. Abrasive particles get embedded in the body of style 2022 which prevents damage of the packing.

It is suitable for pumps, sliders, stirring equipement, valves, but also static applications. Because of the softness of style 2022, it is normally installed with a braided top and bottom ring. Depending on kind of equipment and the prevailing pressure, TEADIT® styles 2202, 2017, 2007 or 2070 are recommended for this purpose. Because of the excellent chemical resistance of the individual components of this packing, it can be used with most substances, both liquid and gaseous. Recommended for use with acids, lyes, solvents, adhesives, abrasive and crystalline media like sewage, slurries, salt, etc.

It is not suitable for alkali metals, fluorine and fluorine compounds at high temperatures and pressures, oleum, highly concentrated nitric acid, oxygen.

Style 2022 has a very low coefficient of friction and does therefore not scour shafts or spindles. Can be used with a wide variety of different media, including abrasive ones.
